How it uses iPhone Duo

The developer's release notes for version 0.47.0 (October 21, 2026) say Helico added support for iPhone Duo: unfolding the phone switches the app to a multi-column view, and folding it returns to the standard iPhone layout. In practice this brings the iPad-style side-by-side columns to the 7.6-inch inner display. We have not yet tested Helico on an iPhone Duo.

About this app

Helico is a third-party client for Bluesky, built natively for iPhone and iPad by independent developer Kunio Ozawa rather than wrapping web views. On iPad its signature feature is a multi-column timeline, letting you keep your home feed, notifications and search side by side; on iPhone it offers a single-column feed with quick switching between several timelines. Everyday features include posting text, images and links, search across posts and users, post translation, bookmarks, dark mode, and mute and filter controls. Recent versions add muted video autoplay (On, Wi-Fi Only or Off), looping videos, full-screen and landscape video viewing, and the ability to start an image post from the share sheet in Photos and other apps. Helico is free, with an optional Premium tier that unlocks four or more columns on iPad, push notifications for replies, mentions and likes, recent hashtag history, automatic post language detection, and a Lightweight Mode that shows media as links to save data. It is a good fit for Bluesky users who follow several feeds at once. Version 0.47.0, released October 21, 2026, adds iPhone Duo support, bringing the multi-column view to the unfolded inner display.
