How it uses iPhone Duo

Apple's release notes for Apple Support 5.17 (October 21, 2026) say it added support for iOS 27.1 and iPhone Duo. MacRumors reported the same day that the app now displays properly on the iPhone Duo's wider screen and can run alongside other apps in Split View, but Apple's notes do not describe any fold-specific behaviour. We have not yet tested it on a device.

About this app

Apple Support is Apple's app for getting help with its hardware and services. It gathers support for the Apple products and subscriptions tied to your Apple Account in one place, with guided, step-by-step solutions for common problems and articles on tasks such as managing subscriptions or resetting an Apple Account password. If you would rather talk to someone, you can start a chat with Apple's support team from inside the app. When a device needs hands-on attention, Apple Support can find a nearby Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and book a Genius Bar or repair reservation. The app also shows AppleCare coverage and lets you buy AppleCare+ plans where they are offered; buying a plan is optional, and the app itself is free to use. Apple notes that the app, AppleCare plans and some features are only available in certain countries and regions. For new iPhone Duo owners it is a practical install: it is where Apple's own help for setting up, troubleshooting and repairing the device lives, and version 5.17 was released two days before the phone went on sale.
